M.Tech admissions 2011
Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad invites applications for admission to M.Tech- IT in the following specialization for the academic year 2011-12
Software Engineering, Wireless Communications and Computing, Intelligent Systems, Robotics, Human Computer Interaction, Microelectronics, Bioinformatics
Qualifying degrees/examinations: Candidates having B.E./B.Tech/MCA/M.Sc/B.Pharm/ MBBS degrees in any Engineering and its equivalent followed by a valid GATE score in respective disciplines
In addition, MBBS, BDS and B.V.Sc&AH candidates are also eligible for this program (for whom no GATE score is required). For details refer information brochure
IIIT Allahabad has taken up an initiative to offer research oriented M.Tech (information technology) programs with specializations as above
All reservations for various categories as per GoI guidelines apply. In case application of reservation is brought in force and likewise seats have to be increased; necessary changes may then be incorporated

All GATE qualified and MBBS, BDS and B.V.Sc&AH candidates shall be eligible for a monthly teaching assistantship of Rs 8000/-
Candidates appearing in qualifying degree examinations may also apply
A total of 164 seats are available
Out of the 28 seats available in the Bioinformatics specialization, half are reserved for candidates from the bio-stream and the other half are reserved for candidates from the other streams. However, if insufficient candidates are available from one stream then the vacant seats may be filled up from candidates of the other stream
A single form has to be filled, irrespective of the specialization and the applicant may indicate her/his choice of stream and corresponding choices of electives in the application form

The request letter must be super-scribed request for application form for admission to M.Tech (IT) program
Application form, together with brochure, is also available from the Institute website www.iiita.ac.in. In case of downloaded forms from website, demand draft may accompany the completed application form application form fee is Rs 600/- (Rs 300/-for SC/ST/OBC candidates) to be paid in cash or through demand draft of any nationalized bank drawn in favour of IIIT-Allahabad payable at Allahabad

Sale of application form-cum-information brochure begins: 17th March, 2011
Last date for issuing (in person) and receiving completed application forms at IIIT-A counter: 30th April, 2011
Written test: 28th May, 2011, 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 Noon
Lab test: 28th May, 2011, 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Interview: 29th May, 2011, 9.00 a.m. onward
